Stelex Construction Equipment, manufacturer of the renowned Hercules range of trommels, has standardised on Baldor-Dodge Imperial ISN mounted spherical roller bearings for its new HT182M road-going trommel. Launched at Hillhead 2010, the HT182M is already generating a very high level of interest in the quarrying industry. In fact, Stelex sold two machines during the course of the event, to customers from Australia and the USA.
New ball bearing is optimised for extreme-duty applications
New ball bearing is optimised for extreme-duty applications extends equipment uptime in harshest processing applications such as aggregates, cement, paper, wood, metal ...
Baldor Electric introduces a new Dodge-brand mounted ball bearing that offers extended life in automation equipment designed for the most extreme industrial power transmission applications, including aggregates, cement, paper, wood and metal processing.
At TOTAL 2010, Baldor showed for the first time in Europe two new innovations for automation and machine builders that improve reliability and reduce costs.
Baldor believes the first introduction to be the ultimate mounted ball bearing for washdown operating environments such as food and pharmaceutical processing. Called ULTRA KLEEN, this new Dodge-brand bearing features a 100% stainless steel bearing insert plus a new sealing system and ball retainer that retain lubrication and prevent washout in wet operating environments. The new QuadGuard sealing system has a triple lip seal and a rubberised flinger.
Innovative bearing extends equipment life in washdown-duty environments
-design features increase reliability of food and beverage processing automation
Baldor Electric has launched a new Dodge-brand mounted ball bearing incorporating sealing and lubrication innovations that can substantially extend equipment lifetimes in harsh, washdown-duty operating environments such as food and beverage processing.
Brownell has introduced a new self reactivating dry air breather to prevent contamination of gearbox lubricating oil by water and condensation. The REGEN8 has a robust all weather construction with complete automatic process control including a Telemetry option for remote monitoring and control management.
Monitoring vibration on critical rotating plant can play a key role in meeting the protection requirements of the latest machinery directives, specifically (Directive 2006/42/EC) which came into force at the end of 2009. This directive demands that machine manufacturers identify the hazards and risks their products present to users. Any risks identified must be reduced to as low a level as is reasonably practicable. The important considerations are; failure of rotating plant can not only be expensive in terms of repair cost and lost revenue through downtime, but also pose a significant health and safety risk. Also, what level of integrity does a vibration protection system need to ensure safe shutdown under all operational conditions?
Vibration monitoring solution for wind turbine applications
The established range of SENSONICS PZS accelerometers have been extended to provide a vibration monitoring solution for wind turbine applications. The proven shear mode constructed PZS accelerometer series have been supplied for many applications, including wind turbine monitoring over the past 5 years. This enhancement of the product range provides a frequency response down to 0.1Hz and permits effective monitoring of both the wind turbine main shaft and input gearbox bearings below rotational speeds of 20RPM. This is important as it’s an industry requirement for wind turbine condition monitoring systems.
AMS Machinery Manager v5.4 makes easy work of viewing critical data from mechanical equipment – whether from wireless transmitters, online monitors, or route-based instruments – in a single software application
Year end saw a substantial increase in turnover for GT85; the industrial strength, ptfe penetrating and lubrication spray. In the words of John Chapman, Chairman, “Despite the serious recession over the past two years, sales of GT85 have advanced across all our markets with sales into the industrial/engineering/process markets holding up well. Our heritage, built up in the cycle and motorcycle markets, has served us well with enthusiasts using us at their work place, home and for leisure”
Vibration sensors with industry standard M12 connectors
Variohm EuroSensor has added three new vibration sensors with industry standard M12 connectors from its USA distribution partner Meggitt Wilcoxon Research. Aimed at vibration monitoring for preventative maintenance on motors, pumps and other rotating equipment, the new general purpose accelerometers are based upon tried and tested 786A and 787A piezoelectric accelerometers but now include the universal 4- and 5-pin M12 connector system which is commonly used across food, beverage, pharmaceutical and many other process industries.
The new safe Sirius 3TK2810-1 speed monitor from the Siemens Industry Automation Division monitors the standstill and speed of machines and plants. This device, which belongs to the range of Sirius 3TK28 safety relays, can simultaneously monitor three parameter limit values for downtime, setup speed and automatic speed.
