Maintenance budgets are set to remain buoyant and focus on improving plant productivity, even in these times of austerity, research from MAINTEC 2012 show organiser easyFairs has revealed.

Nearly eight in 10 maintenance and engineering managers interviewed by easyFairs ahead of the 28 February – 1 March NEC exhibition say they expect their budget to remain the same or increase over the coming year. Additionally, over a third (36 per cent) said that improving plant productivity is the main driver behind their maintenance spend.

The Fire Tube Boiler on its journey to Lucite International

Francis Brown Ltd, the North East fabrication and engineering specialist, has refurbished a giant 120 tonne fire tube boiler for Lucite International.

The Stockton-on-Tees-based company refurbished the large vessel, which is has been returned to Lucite International’s Billingham site.

Surplus Gas Oil Removed From Power Station Without Spilling a Drop PDF Print E-mail

Recovering surplus fuel has enable Derwent Power Station to release its value.

In a carefully synchronised operation, Crown Oil has removed 6.4 million litres of surplus gas oil at Derwent Power Station in Derby releasing a substantial sum for the generator in the process.  The programme began on site in June, concluded in October and required 200 tanker movements.
