Reformulated Mobil Vactra Oil Series Unveiled As Best Performing Slideway Oil in Mobil Industrial Lubricants range

ExxonMobil today launched an upgraded version of its Mobil Vactra Oil series of slideway lubricants to metalworking industry professionals gathered at the EMO Milan exhibition. Designed for premium machine tool lubrication, the best-selling Mobil Vactra Oil Series has been reformulated to do even more to help boost productivity in the metalworking industry.

These new high performance oils are specifically engineered to provide outstanding friction control and accuracy for cast iron, steel and non-metallic way applications on critical machine tools for both vertical and horizontal slideways. Moreover, the new Mobil Vactra Oil range also meets DIN 51524 Part 2* (hydraulic) and DIN 51517* (gear) oil specifications allowing them to be used in moderate service hydraulic systems and gearing within machine tools. By utilising Mobil Vactra Oil for multiple applications, machine shop engineers can help streamline inventory management, reduce incompatibilities, simplify maintenance practices and minimize downtime associated with improper lubrication.

Delivering improved frictional properties and load-carrying capabilities over the current product, the newly upgraded Mobil Vactra Oil series helps mitigate chatter and ‘‘stick-slip’’ of slides and ways made of both metal and plastic which in turn helps to improve the quality of finished parts and to deliver precision machining. The global consistency of the product means that customers can be confident that wherever the Mobil Vactra Oil series is being used, it has the same performance profile across the world.

In addition, the new Mobil Vactra Oil series exhibits an improvement in the separability characteristics from a wide range of milky, semi-synthetic and fully synthetic aqueous cutting fluids. This reduces the potential negative effects of cross contamination of slideway oil and aqueous coolant within the machine tool which helps maximise coolant service life and reduce machine downtime.

The Mobil Vactra Oil Series is available in ISO VG 32, 68, 150 and 220 and can be purchased through ExxonMobil’s extensive network of lubricants distributors across the globe.
