The low inertia also keeps forces within design limits and reduces wear, maintenance and downtime.

 

Low speed drives have traditionally been provided by some form of geared reduction with often quite complex arrangements, but now there is an attractive and simple alternative using direct hydraulic drives.



Hägglunds Drives manufacture a very wide range of motors which eliminate the need of gearboxes the need of gearboxes and present some very interesting benefits on applications like rubber mills and mixers, roll or screw presses and all kinds of shredders.

They are compact, simple, highly efficient and user friendly suitable for all environments including ATEX. They give smooth control and can be stopped and started, even reversed as often as you like using the responsive pump control, so you don't have to oversize the electric motor to give high start up torques.  There are no costly foundations or alignment problems either.

The free standing cabinet style power unit, which can supply several drives can be positioned well away in some convenient place leaving a very compact drive arrangement with minimal maintenance to do and providing stand-by and redundancy if required.
