Particulate Handling Technology

The Wolfson Centre is a leader in the field of powder and bulk solids handling technology and has established strong links with industry. This enables us to offer consultancy, research projects and short courses that combine technological excellence with personalised teaching. Our experts' in-depth knowledge, as specialists in powders and bulk solids, is complemented by their experience across all industries, including pharmaceuticals, process engineering, recycling, food processing and mining.
As you will no doubt have discovered, powders and bulk solid particulates do not always behave as you want them to, causing loss of production, damage to equipment, inconsistencies in dosing through irregular discharge or flow etc. This is where we can help you.

This course aims to provide the knowledge to assist you in identifying bulk solids handling problems and the techniques which can be employed to overcome them.

The following topics will be covered:

- Vessel design, including dimensions, feeders and discharge aids;
- Characterisation of materials;
- Pneumatic and mechanical handling;
- Feeder interfacing;
- Instrumentation and control of solids handling systems
- Dust control including ATEX Compliance

If you work in the Bulk Solids Handling industry, you will benefit from this course. Further details on the course and booking procedures are on our website www.bulksolids.com or download the brochure for Particulate Handling Technology
