A Bulk Bag Discharger with integral Pneumatic Conveying System has been specifically engineered by Flexicon to enable companies to stock-pile bulk material such as powders, flakes and granules in storage silos positioned alongside production process lines and where direct access for large-volume bulk delivery by rail or bulk truck is impractical. The new totally sealed system designed by Flexicon prevents potential release of material into the working environment helping maintain a cleaner and safer operational plant.
Three years ago, faced with a static market for his potato crop, John Fiddler, a farmer in Rufford in Lancashire, decided that the best way to solve his slow potato sales problem was to use them himself. ‘Spiroflow’ Bulk Bag Fillers are the equipment of choice for a Canadian company offering recovery systems for wastewater treatment plants. Vancouver based Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies has developed a new generation of wastewater treatment systems that create value from waste by recovering nutrients, such as phosphorous, and transforming them into revenue-generating, environmentally-friendly, commercial fertiliser.
Introduction of a combination bulk bag discharger with access platform by Flexicon Europe creates the ideal mechanism where controlled overhead release of material is required for load pick-up direct into drums, boxes, bags or bins.
Depending on plant requirements, variations on platform design enable the Flexicon Combo Unit to facilitate direct access beneath the bag discharge spout allowing containers to be collected by fork truck, alternatively the combo unit can become part of an integrated handling system where containers are fed beneath the spout by shuttle conveyor.
The Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology is holding a one day short course looking at the handling , storage and feeding issues encountered with various different biomass materials. Each has it’s own different property issues, which mean different methods of control need to be applied. With the emphasis on the practical aspects of technology, the following topics will be discussed:
Transmission Developments has signed a UK distribution agreement with the endless flat belt specialist Max Schlatterer GmbH, bringing the premier Esband and Werner GRAF brands to its comprehensive range of belting products.
Over the years, Spiroflow has manufactured mobile conveyors with tilting support beams to meet the needs of individual customers. A recent upsurge in interest for such equipment convinced them to formalise the concept and to introduce a Tilting Mobile Flexible Screw Conveyor to their product portfolio. Launched at the recent PPMA exhibition, Spiroflow’s new Tilting Mobile Flexible Screw Conveyor has generated a lot of interest.
Bulk handling specialist Flexicon Europe has developed a new Bulk Bag Filling Line that provides a highly efficient system for automating bag fill and palletisation in preparation for fork truck transfer of material to a downstream process or final packing in readiness for onward shipment to another plant. The new bag filling equipment can simplify and reduce bag filling times since it automatically dispenses the pallets, fills the bulk bags and then accumulates for removal by forklift.
