Health & Safety Engineering Limited have recently supplied a dust extraction system for a print factory specialising in large volume printed media. The system extracted edge trim from six Kongskilde in line shredders to an airwash which separated the bulk of the shredded paper in to hoppers. The remaining air was finally filtered through an HSE CH8 dust filter unit before being discharged back into the print room.
The system incorporated a number of special features including an explosion suppression system to meet ATEX requirements, HEPA return air filters so that the filtered air could be returned to the clean room, fan inverter control for energy saving when a reducer number of lines were running and the requirement that the filter system was no wider than a single aisle of racking.
The project was completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
