Brain Vision Systems (BVS) designs sophisticated vision solutions for inspection and quality control of items produced in small runs and batches.
The BIPcam®, their vision and control system, can be integrated on an assembly line to inspect, measure and detect quality defects and irregularities that may occur on the day-to-day production. Thanks to their innovative vision control process, the BIPS®, memorization of new items is rapid and efficient and avoids long slack periods in production changeovers.
The automatic vision control device BIPcam®, an innovative solution designed by Brain Vision Systems, processes and analyzes images in real time in order to accurately detect any defects on items that must be controlled on multiple points (color, size, shape or edge orientations). Of a very simple use, the configuration of the system can be personalized to any kind of product.

AN EFFICIENT AND QUICKLY SET UP CONTROL DEVICE
Inspection and control of items can be performed in an extremely efficient and rapid way thanks to the BIPcam®. It can detect color, shape, edges and the smallest details of each item. It conveys an alert in real time to the centralized control or the integrated control panel, via a USB interface. An Ethernet device can be linked on demand.
As setting up the memorization of new controlled items is made very quick and easy, this solution is especially well adapted to discontinuous batch and short-run production lines. This allows a considerable gain of time and much reduced slack periods in comparison with other existing solutions on the market, using complex technologies which are more expensive to reschedule.
Contrary to the latter, the BIPS® system incorporated in the BIPcam®, is a vision process inspired by the functioning of a Human brain: it perceives, analyzes and commands the action. Only useful information is delivered to the user, thus, significantly reducing the amount of data transferred. Substantial energy and time savings are then made.
A REAL TIME STATISTICS AND DATA PROCESSING
Data is acquired and processed statistically, in order to analyze the number, frequency and the type of defects detected on items. It is then possible to determine quickly the origin of defects on the production line. Furthermore, depending on demanded tolerance grades and levels of accuracy, the resolution of the camera can be modified.
APPLICATIONS
BVS’s device can be implemented in many fields: product presence control on an assembly line, position and orientation control of an item in Pick and Place applications, a detailed control of the product: spots, scratches, shape…For example, a specific program can also be installed and linked to the control panel in order to implement automatic ejection of non-compliant products.
