Brooks Instrument Wins Golden Gas Awards for Flow Control, Vacuum Technology and Software
Brooks Instrument has won an unprecedented three Golden Gas Awards from Gases and Instrumentation International magazine. Brooks won in the categories of Vacuum Technology, Gas Flow Measurement and Control and Software.
Brooks’ XacTorr™ vacuum capacitance manometer received top honors in the Vacuum Technology category. The XacTorr is a premium, heated gauge that uses patented dual-zone heating to ensure 0.1 degree Celsius temperature uniformity. It provides superior reliability by combining Brooks’ patented Mark-IV shielded sensor technology and patent pending digital temperature control, which reduce the buildup of condensable products that lead to signal drift and premature device failure.
In the Gas Flow Measurement and Control category, Brooks won for its SolidSense® II pressure transmitter. These devices have been designed for stable, accurate and reliable pressure monitoring in high purity and general industrial applications. A combination of optimum design and materials improves both signal stability and reliability in numerous pressure measurement applications. Their ultra-stable, micro-machined silicon strain gauges are matched and fused at a high temperature to the metal diaphragm to relieve manufacturing-induced stress. The process reduces “drift” (lack of zero stability) commonly associated with other pressure transducers.
In the category of software, Brooks won for its Smart Interface Model 0260. This Windows®-based software application provides expanded control and monitoring capabilities in laboratory and research environments for Brooks RS485 Smart Protocol thermal mass flow meters and controllers. Together with the Brooks Smart Interface (BSI) tabletop hardware module, the 0260 provides a turnkey solution for monitoring and controlling up to 30 mass flow meters or controllers. This eliminates the need for multiple secondary electronics boxes, which saves space, simplifies monitoring and reduces overall costs.
“Brooks is happy to receive the Golden Gas awards and be recognized by Gases and Instrumentation International for our innovations in flow measurement,” said Steve Kannengieszer, director of product marketing, Brooks Instrument. “We look forward to delivering more innovative and valued products to support the challenging and diverse measurement and control needs of our customers across a variety of industries.”
Gases and Instrumentation International will award trophies to Brooks during Pittcon 2012, March11-15, in Orlando, Fla.
