ISOPAK TO LAUNCH ISOLATION VERSION OF AUTOMATIC IN-CAP CAPSULE FILLER AT LAB INNOVATIONS
Isopak, the exclusive UK and Irish distributor of the Dott. Bonapace range of pharmaceutical equipment, is for the first time exhibiting in the UK an isolation version of the best selling In-Cap automatic capsule filling machine, at Lab Innovations 2012.
Dott. Bonapace In-Cap automatic capsule filling machines are the smallest fully automatic machines in the world and the model to be exhibited has been pre-fitted for use with an isolation unit. The move by Isopak has been initiated to assist with the development of new, life enhancing and lifesaving drugs which may be harmful in inappropriate quantities to the operators who handle them.
Isopak will also be highlighting during the show other products in the Dott. Bonapace pharmaceutical range. These include semi-automatic capsule filling machines, tablet presses, suppository machinery, deblistering systems, mixing, dosing and counting solutions, capsule banding equipment, suppository/ovule thermoforming and blistering technology.
The ever-popular In-Cap capsule filler, which will be on display, is a bench top unit that can fill individual hard gelatin capsules with powder, hot or cold liquids and gels, pellets, mini tablets, and single tablets for blind trials. Two different powders can even be inserted into the same capsule.
Its compact size, ease of cleaning coupled with the In-Cap”s versatility and simplicity of operation, enables it to score very highly against competing Far East made machinery. It can also handle both conventional and HPMC capsules as well as DB sizes with change parts available from Size 000 to 5.
Changeovers are quick and easy. Its size and flexibility makes the In-Cap ideal for use in laboratory research work, development laboratories, hospitals and universities who are undertaking clinical trials and need small batch production.
An optional low volume powder hopper allows the In-Cap machine to operate with as little as 50gm of product, a great asset when very expensive and difficult to obtain new products need to be filled. A three litre hopper extension can also be used, giving the capability of producing large batches, with an output of up to 3,000 capsules per hour. The unit can handle capsules containing either powder or liquid filling.
Manufactured in Italy to exactingly high standards, the In-Cap capsule filler is already used by a large number of UK based clinical research organisations and with the addition of an isolation version this should further extend its appeal.
The isolation compatible unit is built to meet an expanding list of pharmaceutical companies who
need the option of having isolation chambers to keep operators safely away from drugs and chemicals. The isolation design incorporates CIP (cleaning in place) which enables any residual product to be washed off the equipment and waste water collected, whilst the In-Cap”s contents remain isolated and safe.
Managing director of Stamford-based Isopak, Robin Davies, said: “Dott. Bonapace designs and manufactures an extensive range of clinical trial equipment and we are delighted to be exhibiting for the first time the latest In-Cap capsule filler, which can now be used with an isolation unit, at Lab Innovations.”
