The latest range of sensors from Leuze electronic

Leuze electronic’s latest range of sensors veers away from the usual large and expansive superlatives, because whilst their new range of fibre-optic sensors might offer a large number of choices and benefits, the sensors themselves excel at being small.

For example the new family of fibre-optic sensors which are designed for applications where space is limited, or where small parts need to be detected.

To illustrate the large number of options available, Gary Hockin, Regional Account Manager at Leuze electronic explained that at launch there are 25 different models of plastic optical fibre sensing heads, plus another 27 KFX plastic fibres which provide extra protection from bend damage.

For higher temperature environments, glass fibre sensing heads are also available, as are silicon-sleeved types for food safe requirements.

These sensing heads can be coupled to a choice of slim switching amplifiers, either the basic  LV461 which is equipped with a potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment, a switch for light/ dark switching as well as a fast response time or the LV462 which offers a digital display and easy adjustment using either the AutoSet function or manually with +/- buttons.

One way Leuze electronic differentiates itself is by embracing numerous communication protocols, one of which is IO Link. Therefore LV463 fibre-optic amplifier not only shows the signal and the switching threshold simultaneously on a double display and has extensive setting options, but also offers an IO-Link interface.

A large range of parts, offering high performance for small spaces, from Leuze electronic, the sensor people.
