Bulk Solids Handling Short courses for the Processing Industry

Category Bulk Materials Handling       Hits: 3569
The importance of training using real equipment; Our elutriation tester was developed at the Centre to measure air induced segregation (elutriation)

Powder and granular materials are used in the manufacture of almost all goods; yet the technology by which to obtain reliable and efficient storage or handling of these materials is seldom focused on until major issues arise.  This is because bulk solids handling is not a recognised academic “discipline” and hence very little background knowledge can be called upon with companies to identify the fundamental causes of problems in this area of operations.  Due to the lack of this discipline in most engineering courses, people dealing with particulates need to access quality post-experience teaching on the matter.

This is where the experts at the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology can help. They have designed a series of one and two day courses to provide the process industry with access to the knowledge to identify and overcome their own materials handling problems. Practical sessions are also available to put the theory learned into practice.
