The Wirral-based company specializes in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of  conveyor systems.

Sovex’s products are now widely used within the parcel handling industry and it counts DPD, Yodel, UK Mail and DHL among its many blue chip clients.

A spate of major new contracts has resulted in the business being on course to boost its turnover by 25 per cent from £8m to £10m during the current financial year.

Sovex currently employs 73 staff including electrical engineers, welders, fitters and fabricators at its headquarters in Prenton, Wirral, including 30 service engineers based around Britain.

It has just launched a recruitment drive for additional service engineers in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds to cope with increased demand from the new orders.

David Lindfield,  Sovex Managing Director, said: “A tenth anniversary is an important landmark for any business – and it’s fantastic to be making good profits, employing more staff and achieving rapid growth at this point in our evolution.

“Put simply, we’ve bucked the recession because we have great products and we love engineering our way out of a problem for our customers.

“Another major reason for our success is because we serve the parcel industry which has grown exponentially because of internet sales from the likes of Amazon and eBay.

“The blue chip clients we work for and our full and record-breaking order book means that we are looking forward to the next ten years with confidence.”

Sovex’s conveyors have been developed to save companies time and money by enabling vehicles of all sizes - from Transit vans to articulated lorries - to be loaded and unloaded safely and quickly. Once unloaded Sovex offers full conveyor systems to assist with sorting and transporting the items.

Their conveyor system customers include CD suppliers, tyre manufacturers and shoe importers.

Mr Lindfield adds: “We already sell to big multinational companies but we want to sell to more small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) too.

“We can help anyone who has to load or unload a vehicle - from a van upwards - with products varying in size from a necklace in a Jiffy bag to a bicycle in a cardboard box.”

Sovex’s core business is the vehicle loading range for which it is famous. Its telescopic boom conveyor extends into vehicles, sea containers, transit vans and everything in between – and drastically reduces the time and manpower required to load and unload products.

In addition to these boom conveyors Sovex also offers full conveyor systems to assist with sorting and transporting the produce from these vehicles visit www.sovexsystems.com.
