GEA Niro MOBILE MINOR spray dryer

GEA Process Engineering will be attending the Food Ingredients Europe tradeshow in Frankfurt from 19-21 November 2013 to promote the latest technology and techniques in spray drying, freeze drying and mixing technology for the food industry. GEA’s staff will be available to discuss how working with GEA helps customers set the standard and meet the strictest requirements for product quality, plant efficiency and safety, and sustainable production.

Spray drying offers opportunities to produce better powders
Spray drying has become increasingly attractive to the food industry because of its flexibility and controllability that allows for production of powders with specific advanced properties like dissolvability, flow properties and bulk density. Spray drying is also ideal for heat sensitive products as the water evaporation is virtually instantaneous so product temperatures remain well below levels that could cause heat damage or deterioration of taste or nutritional value.
GEA Process Engineering will have its GEA Niro MOBILE MINOR™ spray dryer on the stand. The GEA Niro MOBILE MINOR™ is the leading laboratory spray dryer and used by many of the leading companies working with food products and ingredients worldwide. It is the ideal choice for making test work and samples, and for establishing the process data required for commercial production.
Latest thinking on powder manufacture
On Tuesday 19 November (12:00 – 12:25) Henrik Stilhoff, Process Technologist at GEA Process Engineering, will be presenting ‘Manufacturing Instant Powders for Drink and Food Applications’ as part of the FIE seminar programme. During his presentation he will explore the latest developments in spray drying and agglomeration and explain how the techniques can be used to produce powders that meet the demand for with advanced properties manipulate particle characteristics specifically to meet customers’ needs and to bring new innovative products to market quickly and efficiently.
The presentation is in the Seminar Theatre, Hall 9.
MIXING FORMULA™ taking the market by storm
GEA will also be promoting its unique inline mixing system MIXING FORMULA™, launched last year. The system has broken all sales targets and created a step change in mixing technology especially for the single or multi-pass mixing of dissolvable powders up to 400cP. The revolutionary design of the mixing rota in MIXING FORMULA™ not only creates the necessary sheering force to mix the product but also develops sufficient centrifugal pressure to pump the product to the storage silos without the need of a separate centrifugal pump.
GEA Process Engineering is located on stand number 8H77, Hall 8.
