Grundfos Achieves Environmental First Place

The EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) is the official EU instrument that acknowledges organisations that have improved their environmental performance on a continuous basis.

This year the award for good environmental management went to Grundfos main production company in Denmark who were recognised for the great strides they have achieved. Examples of this are that they have reduced the amount of waste produced by over a third in 10 years, they encourage all their staff to be part of the process through an active staff suggestion scheme and are constantly seeking new energy efficient methods and are currently looking at the feasibility of diverting excess energy into cooling energy that can be used within the production process.

This was a first, as no Northern European company had ever won this award before.

This accolade comes hot on the heels of Grundfos Pumps in the UK receiving a Green Apple award at The House of Commons for the third successive year.
