A bi-monthly(ish) lighthearted insight into the world of PII's publisher Guy Ullmann's latest going's on, together with updates about PII and details of ‘What's coming up‘ in each issue
This issue comes during sad times with the passing of Her Majesty. I am far from a Royalist, however I, like the entire world, had the utmost respect for Queen Elizabeth who was quite simply amazing, Christmas just won't be the same without the entire family huddled around the TV listening to her speech : (
Â
Last Thursday was a surreal day as I received a text from my sister to say the Queen had passed away. I immediately turned on the news but there was nothing – I asked how on earth she knew?? She replied that one of her students at the posh school she teaches at is family friends with the Royals, so it was very strange knowing before the news had broke and also to see how long it took for the media to announce her passing, it's one of those days we'll all remember for the rest of our lives.
There are some lovely tributes and stories being shared which I'm sure you have read, my favourite was about the two American tourists who unknowingly met the Queen whilst hiking in Balmoral, if you haven't heard the story it's well worth a watch, fantastically told by Former Royal Protection Officer Richard Griffin who was with her at the time:
The Guardian have also created a short montage of some of her most humorous moments caught on camera, which is delightful:
Monday will be a very emotional day.
Â
R.I.P. Queenie, you'll be missed.
It feels strange to share this during these days and it is by no means to disrespect the Queen, life goes on I guess and I hope one or two of my photos bring a smile to you.

It's been a chaotic couple of months for me, with yet another wedding which we combined to also have our summer holiday in Ireland, trips back home with the family, stag parties and general summer fun, it's been an eventful period to say the least, which I have tried to summarise as best I can below:
Little did I know that kissing the blarney stone meant bending over backwards over a great height, which doesn't go down too well for someone totally inflexible and has a terrible fear of heights!!! It didn't help that I was the first in line to do it, so had nothing to go by!
We were treated to an amazing Irish band and beautiful dancer which made for a highly enjoyable last night of freedom for the Groom to be!
It was a ‘little' on the windy side at the Cliffs of Moher, which made the walk along the 200+ metre high cliffs far more exciting – here you can see Robi causing a traffic jam on some steps….
As I hope most of you are aware Google announced a Core Algorithm Update at the beginning of September, that was focussed around ‘Helpful Content', which as a news publisher I was most interested in.
Our Sept/Oct issue includes our annual Water & Wastewater special together with a variety of other carefully commissioned features that you won't read anywhere else, together with our usual product news sections and will of course include the latest columns from Sean & Gavin…

I'd like to end with a lovely poem I found about the queen – a fitting end to this issue me thinks….
A Poem for Queen Elizabeth II
(This poem is written from the perspective of the Queen)
Â
Philip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that “I know”
Â
Â
I then turned and looked behind me,
and saw I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.
Â
Â
I gently touched each shoulder,
with Philip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.
Â
Â
Philip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.
Â
Â
I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
Â
Â
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.
Â
Â
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.
