Atlas Copco, the world’s leading industrial tool manufacturer, and Ubisense, the world’s leading provider of location solutions, today announces that a second European Automotive Group has entered into an agreement to deploy its Manufacturing Solutions Suite which incorporates Tool Location and Assembly Control Solution across its production sites. The solutions have already been deployed at three of the companies sites, in a deal worth approx 1million Eur.
Tool Location and Assembly Control System is part of the Ubisense Manufacturing Solutions, it uses a combination of enterprise distributed software and precision tracking technologies to visualise and control Atlas Copco dc tools and assembly lines in complex production environments. The location solution is already in use in major automotive plants in Europe, North America and Asia and is used in the standard Tool Location System distributed by Atlas Copco through its worldwide offices.
Fully scalable, it can be used at single sites or by global companies that want a complete visibility and control of operations that encompass multiple manufacturing locations and span different countries.
Richard Green, CEO of Ubisense, said: “We are very pleased to have been selected by a major European automotive group, together with our strategic partner Atlas Copco: our systems are now being deployed by a growing number of global automotive companies to drive enormous productivity benefits in their business. The ROI is clearly understood by the industry and this is further endorsement of our solution by such a leading group.”
