BOGE, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-performance compressors, has released its latest case study with meat producer ABP Slaney, outlining huge annual savings that has also helped meet the food producer’s rigorous sustainability objectives.

ABP Slaney, a long-established beef business situated at the heart of the agri-food sector in Ireland, has always had sustainability as its core focus. ABP Slaney is a committed member of Origin Green, the Irish Food Board (Bord Bia) Sustainable Food Production Programme and saw the opportunity to upgrade its plant, replacing its old compressed air system through distribution partner, ILS Engineering.

Lowering carbon output by using less energy is a key aim for the beef supplier and the upgrade to its technology included a more efficient air compressor system. The solution, not only helped to meet their sustainability objectives, but saved ABP Slaney over €25,000 annually on energy costs.

Mark Whitmore, BOGE UK General Manager says:Reducing energy costs is vital for every business more so than ever right now in order to survive the current economic climate. It’s never been more vital to invest in upgraded, more efficient machinery to ensure that energy bills are reduced.

He adds: It’s also vital that technology helps companies focussed on net zero, reduce their carbon emissions. We understand what is needed to do our part and work with our partners and customers to focus on upgrading technology to enable efficiencies and change. We see countless opportunities to continue to deliver sustainable innovations that support our customers and the wider society.”

Mr Whitmore concludes: “We’re proud of our approach to sustainability and as a family-run business, reducing our carbon footprint is a key objective.”
