UniTrak Powderflight Limited recently received an order for two Powderflight aeromechanical conveyors to handle diatomaceous earth for a large international brewery in Canada. The diatomaceous earth is used in the filtering process.
Powderflight aeromechanical conveyors were chosen for the project because of the small footprint and because they offer completely dust-tight conveying. The conveyors were completely fabricated from type 304 stainless steel.
The customer needed to move a considerably large amount of material in a very short time – 450 kg in 1.5 minutes. The Model M-125 was chosen for this project based upon the capacity required. The small footprint of the Powderflight made it possible to move this much material while occupying less than 1.5 square metres of factory floor. The ceiling height in the area where these conveyors were to be installed was less than 3 metres high, and because Powderflight requires limited headroom, this was not an issue.
