huge task of reinforcing
After recent events at the Buncefield storage site, all petroleum companies throughout England and the UK have been undertaking the huge task of reinforcing current measures and double checking all procedures in order to safe-guard against any unforeseen occurrances again.
One of the larger jobs being undertaken is the expansion and checking of all terminal bunds for storage safety and capacity. This has led rise to another problem – water! During the wet seasons (being a water tight container) excess rain and moisture is collecting within the bunded areas and turning stagnant.
In order to combat this unwanted liquid, we have installed an air operated system, with ARO 2″ Stainless Steel Viton diaphragm pumps, fitted with auto cut-off and timing devices to clear any excess rain water quickly and easily. The system can be operated manually by hand, or can be set up to run on routine by the on-site engineers for the regular expelling of water. Diaphragm pumps can be set to work on any bund application, from small to large and is perfect to safe-guard your bund application during the wet weather, and stops the build up of unhygienic rotten, odourful water! Keep on top of your safety concerns – whatever the weather!
