Carsten Berg receives the 1,000,000 Alpha2
In November, the one millionth ALPHA2 came off the production line at Grundfos Group HQ in Bjerringbro, Denmark. This was an important milestone on the journey to revolutionise the market for small circulator pumps.
Today, with such a strong emphasis on climate change and the need to use energy wisely, the ALPHA2 fits the environmental bill perfectly. With its A label rating and plug and pump feature, it is the perfect green solution. In fact if all circulator pumps in the EU were replaced by these A-rated pumps 35 billion kWh and 14m metric tons of C02 could be saved.
To recognise this landmark achievement, the team involved with its production all signed the pump and presented it to Grundfos Group President Carsten Berg for posterity. It may have taken two years to reach the first million, it is however expected that production will reach one million per year as the EuP directive on minimum energy efficiency requirements starts to have an impact and consumer demand increases for more energy efficient goods.
