Pump solutions for the paints, inks and adhesive coatings industries

AxFlow has widened its range of pump solutions for the paints, inks and adhesive coatings industries with the recommendation that a sliding vane pump from Blackmer is capable of handling abrasive liquids

The Blackmer XLW Series pump has the capability to handle liquids containing suspended particles up to 250 microns and 25% concentrations, such as oxide primers, inks, paints and adhesives. The XLW Series pumps can be used on vertical and horizontal bead mills and for solvent recovery.

Constructed from hardened ductile iron materials, which gives the pump its resistance to abrasive liquids, XLW Series pumps can be fitted with ‘O’ rings, mechanical seals, relief valves, springs, vanes and rotors to accommodate a wide range of liquid applications. Base mounted motor driven assemblies with a helical gear reduction drive are available for all models.

Suitable for liquid flow rates between 23 and 320L/min and with differential pressures up to 10.5 bar, AxFlow says that this pump offers users an energy efficient and easy maintenance option for handling more challenging liquids. The unique sliding vane design self-adjusts for any wear, thereby maintaining flow rates, and the pump has excellent self-priming and dry-run capabilities. The presence of the adjustable pressure relief valve protects the pump against excessive pressures.

“AxFlow already offers the paints, coatings and adhesive industries an extensive range of pump technologies,” comments AxFlow managing director Tony Peters,” and the introduction of the Blackmer XLW Series for handling abrasive liquids builds on our established product portfolio.”
