One of the lifts with a powered hydraulic clamp
Birmingham-based manufacturing firm Wilmat has delivered a bespoke handling solution for a market leader in the production of heat transfer systems used in mobile generators.
As part of a long-standing relationship, Wilmat has supplied West Midlands-based Covrad Heat Transfer Ltd three track mounted and three battery operated lifts, along with other ancillary equipment, used at key stages of the manufacturing process.
Andrew Capella, Wilmat”s Technical Director, explained: “The equipment has been supplied over several years as the company has continued to grow and we continue to provide ongoing maintenance and service support.”
“The relationship demonstrates our ability to provide specialist equipment that”s flexible enough to cope with changing requirements on the production line whilst being tough enough to cope in a demanding work environment.
Bespoke features of the equipment include a powered hydraulic clamp enabling rotation of components. Self aligning clamp pads also provide a safe grip and prevent damage to components while a manual clamp screw fail safe has been added in case of hydraulic clamp failure.
A clamp pressure gauge has also been fitted to monitor grip while a slow, precise control on all functions avoids splashes during the dipping process.
Andrew added: “The relationship demonstrates how British companies, when they work together, can continue to prosper during difficult times for the wider manufacturing sector.
“It also highlight”s Wilmat”s commitment to developing bespoke solutions for our customers, particularly when they are not well served by traditional, ‘standard” handling products.”
