Contrec 100 Series Brings Affordable Quality to Flow Measurement

Listen to this article

Electronics manufacturer, Contrec, has placed over thirty years’ experience in the development, manufacture and distribution of flow measurement equipment into a new cost efficient, high volume range of controls, monitors and totalisers.

The 100 Series combines the high standards of British manufacturing and the technical knowledge of this global company with the convenient lower cost units that are available in large numbers and which can be powered by off-the-shelf batteries, rather than the more costly intrinsically safe batteries.
“Our products are recognised as the benchmark within our industry with literally tens of thousands of Contrec instruments being trusted in every continent and in most countries around the globe,” explained Pam Casson, Contrec Manufacturing Managing Director.
In 2012, the manufacturing rights were purchased from the parent company Honeywell and a new company Contrec Manufacturing (UK) Ltd was started with production being moved from India to Contrec’s West Yorkshire facility, based near Halifax.
“Our supplier was moving in a different direction and was happy to sell the process instrument division. We bought the manufacturing rights and stock with a view to creating our own manufacturing business here in the UK,” added Mrs Casson.
“This gave us far greater control over design, production and quality. It also enabled us to invest heavily in research and development to improve and expand our product range still further. The 100 Series is part of the expansion.”
Designed to deliver highly accurate field instrumentation for the process industry the 100 Series is ideal for applications where a robust weatherproof IP67 unit is required. All models feature simple programming, large display and input linearization for increased accuracy.
The 100 Series includes the 102D Battery Powered Rate Totaliser, the 103D Field Mounting Rate Totaliser, the 104A Loop Powered Rate Totaliser, the 104D Field Mounting Rate Totaliser, the 114D Frequency/Pulse Input Batch Controller, the 120A Level Monitor and the 150A Process Indicator. All are made to the high standards, which are the norm at Contrec, but without the accreditation they can be produced at a much lower price and in higher volume.
Contrec provides flow instrumentation for the petroleum industry, off-shore pipelines, gas, air, water and energy, as well as the food and beverage industries. Contrec is continually developing and testing its products to comply with international standards on accuracy and to ensure it meets all its clients’ requirements, often in fast-changing and demanding environments.
