Dew Point, Temperature & Barometric Pressure Transmitter for Diesel Engine Emissions Testing

Listen to this article

The Edgetech Instruments DewTrak-DE is a precision, multi-sensor transmitter that measures dew/frost point, temperature and barometric pressure for diesel engine testing.

Fully tailored to the application, the transmitter’s dew/frost point and temperature sensors are on remote cables while a barometric pressure sensor is built into the control module. The DewTrak-DE is used to measure these environmental parameters at the air intake of diesel engines for use in analysis when doing emissions testing.

Other approaches typically require multiple analysers, but with the DewTrak-DE, all required environmental parameters are measured with one instrument. The user simply locates dew/frost point and temperature probes at the engine’s air intake and records the measured barometric pressure, dew/frost point and temperature. Analogue and digital communications are standard.

The DewTrak-DE is used in testing and research labs as well as in the field for over-the-road vehicles, farm equipment, power generators, train engines, ships or anything using diesel engines. It meets the industry’s rigorous specifications for these measurements.

Based on the company’s DewTrak II dew/frost point analyser, the DewTrak-DE assures absolute knowledge of dew/frost point using the primary standard, long-life, chilled mirror technique while a platinum resistance thermometer measures the temperature and a MEMS based sensor measures barometric pressure. A NIST traceability certificate is issued for all measured parameters.

Edgetech Instruments designs and manufacturers accurate and reliable absolute humidity hygrometers, relative humidity transmitters, humidity probes, moisture and dew point analysers, relative humidity calibrators, dew point generators and oxygen measurement instrumentation. Edgetech products are manufactured, serviced and calibrated to the highest industry standards in a modern facility located in Hudson, Massachusetts.
