Dual stage degasser vacuum pump

Listen to this article

Biotech Fluidics has brought into the market a long lasting dual-stage moulded vacuum pump that is set to boost the performance of fluidic degassing systems significantly.

The recently launched StabiliX™ vacuum pumps have been designed to offer hassle free operation and great emphasis has been laid on the reliability and durability of the product. It has been specifically developed for the degassing process where the presence of dissolved gas and microbubbles affects the analysis and system performance.

Degassing is highly significant in laboratory and process applications such as chromatography, biotechnology, pharmaceutical analysis, and chemical processing. The presence of dissolved gases can cause baseline noises, cavitation, flow irregularities, and lower detection sensitivity. These problems are effectively countered by the StabiliX™ line of vacuum pumps.

Available in analytical scale and prep scale versions, StabiliX™ vacuum pumps are quiet, durable, and fully retrofittable to a full range of DEGASi® in-line degassers from Biotech Fluidics that utilise vacuum pump technology. StabiliX vacuum pumps are a quiet and durable alternative to Diaphragm vacuum pumps in laboratory applications.

One of the major characteristics of the StabiliX™ Series is that it has an inert wetted path that enables the vacuum pumps to work effectively even with every fluid imaginable. Because of its inert wetted path, chemical compatibility is ensured to prevent contamination and achieve consistent degassing of the solvent and/or fluid processes.

The analytical scale model is optimised for use with standard degassing chambers and typical laboratory fluids. It is appropriate for general laboratory analysis where stable vacuum and low-noise operations are necessary.

The prep scale versions are designed for operating with high vapor loads, which are associated with high flow rate chambers and/or low vapor pressure fluids that tend to increase solvent pervaporation due to degassing membranes. This applies where rugged degassing is needed, particularly in preparative chromatography.

This new-generation vacuum pump can be provided in both bottom-mounted and side-mounted options. This allows easier integration into any system. It may also be installed in any enclosure.
