Improved magnet removes very fine metal particles from milk powder
Goudsmit Magnetic Systems from Waalre recently developed an improved version of the rotating clean-flow magnet in collaboration with Friesland Campina Domo. The magnet removes very fine metal particles from whey powder, and due to its renewed dynamic seal it will also be dust-proof at an over pressure of up to 0.4 bar. Pressure in the filler pipe may increase during the filling of bulk bags.
Over pressure that occurred resulted in leakage in the former situation. The magnet manufacturer solved this problem together with Friesland Campina Domo and made some practical improvements that make this version deployable for many purposes.
Technical details
Not only the seal was improved. The magnetic value was increased as well (Br value: 13,200 Gauss) and the magnets will also retain their strength at higher temperatures. The magnetic bars have a Lunac coating to prevent adhesion of the product. The design pays particular attention to the high FDA plus Ehedg requirements, and to the finish of the housing.
Besides application in the food and infant food industries, this magnet can also be used for other products such as cocoa powders or similar products in the food industry.
