ELGA Process Water launches rEcoBLUE™ water saving solution

Listen to this article

With water footprint reduction targets and the cost of mains water and sewer discharge increasing, water usage is both an economic and environmental issue for many businesses. Reverse Osmosis concentrate (wastewater or reject stream) is a valuable resource, and yet it is often sent to drain, incurring discharge costs. rEcoBLUE ™ allows users to recover up to 50% of the concentrate, for reuse to replace mains water or for other applications such as boiler feed or CIP.

To launch rEcoBLUE ™, a free online calculator has been developed and provides potential water savings, based on entering simple information. This enables businesses to find out how much they could save by implementing a water saving solution from ELGA Process Water. For more information and to try out the calculator, please visit www.elgaprocesswater.co.uk/recoblue.

Furthermore, any business considering a water recovery system (where onsite reuse is at least 40% of the wastewater) could apply for a Certificate of Environmental Benefit and be eligible to claim for the Government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) water scheme. This allows businesses to write off the cost of certain water efficient plant and machinery against taxable profits in the year of purchase.
