Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solution Increases Paint Manufacturer”s Efficiency

Listen to this article

Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organisations, today announced that Ireland-based paint manufacturer, Colortrend, has chosen the next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Epicor ERP, to streamline processes and allow better transparency of margins in order to support planned growth.

Established over 60 years ago, Colortrend is Ireland’s leading independent paint manufacturer and a 100% Irish-owned and operated paint company. Colortrend provides a wide range of premium quality paints in a huge array of colours and finishes. The company is well positioned for strong growth in future years and aims to stay at the forefront of new technology in all areas of the paint industry.

To allow for this level of growth, Colortrend required a business solution which would speed up and streamline its processes, increasing production efficiency. Sinead McCarthy, Finance Director for Colortrend explains, “We are currently experiencing fantastic growth and have a strategy in place to grow even more. With this in mind, we needed an ERP solution that wouldn’t buckle under the pressure and one that we could really grow into. We felt our previous systems were limited and we needed one which would allow us to radically improve efficiency and report in real-time.”

With the support of Aspera Solutions, a member of the Epicor Inspired Partner Network, Epicor ERP was selected over key competitors following a rigorous screening process. Colortrend chose Epicor as it felt the system would not only support them in terms of specific business needs but also offered the personal touch and made them feel like a valued Epicor customer.

McCarthy continued, “Choosing an ERP system is like buying a house – it should fit your needs best, and for years to come. Epicor has proved this by helping us to increase profitability by offering a strategic overview of best performing products, which is something we didn’t have visibility of before now.”

Epicor ERP will support Colortrend’s material requirements planning, production line and sales order processing as well as after sales, all within one system.

Steve Winder, regional vice president for Epicor Software in the UK and Ireland explains, “With Epicor ERP, we are able to help Colortrend streamline everything from credit management to customer service in one place. This will enable the team to gain visibility into exactly what’s happening within the business, have greater control and support the growth strategy.”
