The European Power Transmission Distributors Association (EPTDA), the leading European organisation for the mechanical Power Transmission and Motion Control (PT/MC) industry, is announcing further expansion of its membership portfolio above 200 companies with the addition of distributor Lenze and two manufacturers – KTR and Murtfeldt.

With corporate headquarters in Rheine, Germany, KTR Kupplungstechnik GmbH was founded in 1959. Today, KTR has acquired more than 50 years of experience in power transmission and expanded to over 40 premises throughout the world. KTR is a leading supplier of couplings, clamping sets, torque limiters, torque measuring systems, hydraulic components and brake systems. With more than 850 employees and 20 subsidiary companies as well as 90 sales representatives KTR is present in the industrial markets of all five continents. Its sales network ensures competent service all around the globe. KTR products are DIN ISO EN 9001: 2000 and DIN ISO EN 14001: 2005 certified. Hans Hagedoorn, General Manager, KTR Benelux BV, explains: “The main reason for KTR Kupplungstechnik GmbH to join the EPTDA is to meet decision makers in the European KTR distribution network. The EPTDA platform gives us also the opportunity to expand our product distribution in Europe and the rest of the world of power transmission. I think the EPTDA will fit us very well and I am looking forward to meeting everybody at the EPTDA Lisbon 2012 convention in September!”

Lenze, a global specialist in Motion Centric Automation, offers products, drive solutions, complete automation systems and engineering services, as well as tools from a single source. They are one of a small number of providers who will support the entire development process for machines – from the initial idea to aftersales, from control systems to drive shafts. “Lenze attended the EPTDA Budapest 2011 convention last year and it’s a great pleasure to have them join now as active members of our growing organisation”, comments Hans Hanegreefs, Executive Vice President of EPTDA. “Lenze has 52 companies worldwide and operates sales and service offices in 60 countries, on all continents. With this presence, Lenze is a great addition to the current EPTDA membership portfolio, now exceeding 200 companies! EPTDA is also proud to count a new German company among its manufacturer members: Murtfeldt Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG. The Dortmund-based company is one of the world”s leading manufacturers of slide profiles, chain and belt guides, chain tensioners, and custom machine parts made from abrasion-resistant glide-enabling plastics. Murtfeldt also offers custom, cost-optimized solutions in accordance with customer drawings – such as ready-to-install machine parts and profiles – in addition to their standard products. The company has 300 employees in Dortmund and at subsidiaries and agencies in Eastern and Western Europe. Being active in many different industry sectors, Murtfeldt comes as a good complement to the current range of product lines that the EPTDA members represent,” continues Hanegreefs.

According to Hans Hanegreefs, these recent memberships are a sign that industry leaders acknowledge the EPTDA as a valuable channel in which to be active, and with quality standards up to their expectations. As this pan-European organisation is continuing its Growth Initiative, more members are expecting to join the group. In addition, this specific programme will allow distributor member candidates to attend the EPTDA Lisbon 2012 convention, the association’s annual industry event, at exclusive conditions. Between 350 and 400 PT/MC decision-makers and professionals are awaited at this business meeting where manufacturers can meet personally with distributors from across Europe mainly, but also USA and emerging regions such as Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
