Essentra Makes Notable Strides in Climate Commitment Scores

Listen to this article

Essentra Components, the leading manufacturer of essential components and solutions, has received its latest scores from the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP), including a high A- for its climate commitment, a B for ‘Water' and a B- rating for ‘Forests'.

CDP's 16 ‘Climate' parameters that were assessed comprise risk disclosure, emissions reduction activities, targets, emissions and others. Essentra recorded an A- grade or higher in 13 out of these 16 parameters.

In the CDP ‘Forests' criteria, number 12, Essentra scored B- and above in more than half. Some of these criteria include governance, environmental policies, public policy engagement and industry collaboration. In ‘Water', Essentra scored B- and above in nine of the 11 sub-categories, scoring a B overall. Some of these sub-categories include water accounting, governance, risk disclosure and opportunity disclosure.

Essentra's ESG Director, Jennifer Spence, was happy with the results and said the ratings reflect the organisation's commitment to being sustainable:
“We're so proud of our environmental commitments to date.”

She continued:
“There is always more to do and we know that in doing so we benefit our customers, our company and crucially the planet.”

Spence continued:
Essentra has a public commitment to become the world's most responsible producer of essential industrial components. These ratings show we are on the right track.”

CDP scores play a key role in driving companies from transparency to action and in achieving measurable business enhancements. CDP A List companies have outperformed their market counterparts by 6% in stock gains over the last ten years, which proves that transparency as well as ambition are rewarded by the market.
