Innovasic Launches New Version of Its RapID Platform Industrial Ethernet Connectivity Solution

Listen to this article

PriorityChannel™ performance combined with a simplified software interface supports PROFINET Class B, EtherNet/IP and ModbusTCP all in one solution

Innovasic announces a new and improved version of its RapID Platform Network Interface for Industrial Ethernet connectivity.  PROFINET Class B, EtherNet/IP and ModbusTCP can all be supported without changing hardware or changing the host processor software.  This means host communication with the Network Interface remains the same regardless of the protocol, saving significant development time.  The EtherNet/IP and PROFINET Class B versions have been certified, enabling the final product to get to market quicker.  All versions are ready to ship today.

In addition, all protocol versions of the Network Interface incorporate PriorityChannel™, a new technology for Industrial Ethernet field devices that eliminates the effects of network traffic and loading.  PriorityChannel™ ensures real-time Industrial Ethernet messages are always processed on-time, every time regardless of the amount or type of network traffic.  A field device incorporating the Network Interface is protected from unpredictable packet delays, excessive latency, and connection failure.

“One hardware solution for multiple protocols, eliminating the need to change host processor software, and small form factor with low cost Bill of Material are great features by themselves,” said Tom Weingartner, Innovasic’s Vice President of Marketing, “but we took the improvements a step further.  We added PriorityChannel™ for unparalleled network performance making the RapID Platform Network Interface one of the best price/performance, multiprotocol solutions on the market.”

The RapID Platform Network Interface is available as a module or an embedded design.  The choice is up to the user and the transition can be made at any time.  It is possible to start with a module and migrate to the lower cost, smaller form factor embedded design whenever it makes sense.  Please visit us at www.innovasic.com to learn more.
