Attenuation testing proves results

A company dedicated to eradicating noise-induced hearing loss has launched a revolutionary new product, which enables employers to create a pair of custom-moulded plugs for an individual employee in just six minutes.

SonoLab Instant Fit Custom Moulded earplugs provide the high protection and comfort of custom-moulding, with none of the wait. They are designed for noisy working environments, such as construction, engineering and processing. The earplugs may be used alongside SonoLab Noise Attenuation Testing software to test, document and prove that an employer is responsibly protecting employees from noise-induced hearing loss as a result of working at their company.

Last year SonoLab, the sound solution specialist, acquired the original earplug technology from its developers; at this time it was marketed as Sonomax. SonoLab has improved the technology and is now manufacturing its highly effective earplugs for distribution across the globe, to help minimise the health risk that is posed by noisy workplaces for both employees and companies.

This technology may be combined with the SonoLab Noise Attenuation Testing Programme, which enables employers to test, document and prove the level of protection they are providing.

Insurance companies are also showing an interest because the level of industrial injury claims citing noise induced hearing loss has risen sharply and is costing them dearly.

Kevin Carvell, General Manager at SonoLab, has saidWe’ve focused the new brand to ensure that companies understand exactly how we can help them look after their employees, and save them time and money in both the short and long term. The health and safety of employee hearing is our top concern as noise-induced hearing loss is the most common industrial injury claim.”

Made using medical-grade silicone, SonoLab allows users to follow an easy process to fit the earplugs in six minutes, and wearers can start using the earplugs immediately.
