Smart Factory Advisor IoT Plug & Play Manufacturing Solution

Listen to this article

Factories are changing, becoming smarter and automated thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT), digital sensors, cloud solutions, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications: that’s Smart Factory or Industry 4.0.

In this context the opportunities offered by the Internet of Things are remarkable, but the manufacturing sector is still wary and reluctant on projects in this sector.
Solair, a software company focused on making the IoT easy-to-use for manufacturing companies, has developed an IoT vertical solution, ready to use, called Smart Factory Advisor: a package consisting of gateway, sensors and subscription to the Solair software.
“With this product – said Tom Davis, CEO at Solair – manufacturers can begin to explore the opportunities offered by IoT without huge investments, with the possibility to expand the solution with additional packages or to evaluate the development of a personalised application.”
Smart Factory Advisor is easy to implement (you don’t need to write code, it’s absolutely non-invasive, plug&play), easy to use (you can access it through a web browser on a pc or mobile) and it allows a 24×7 full control in real time from any device of different machines in a factory and their energy consumption.
Smart Factory Advisor allows you to receive updates on which machines are working properly and which are not, to receive alerts in case of stoppages, to visualise the status of machines (on, stand by, off) and to monitor energy consumption including the possibility to make comparisons between different types of machines or departments.
Smart Factory Advisor can add “intelligence” to the existing base of installed machines by collecting data from them; the “retrofitting” of existing equipment opens enormous possibilities in the short term, without having to wait for next generation products.
With this solution, plant and production managers can achieve an increase in productivity, safety and uptime; energy managers can control and improve energy consumption; financial managers can record lower costs resulting from the increase of efficiency and revenue.
With Smart Factory Advisor, Solair enriches its offering, adding to the unlimited possibilities of the application platform a real product off the shelf.
