Invensys Operations Management New Offering Announcement – Foxboro Model RTT80 Temperature Transmitter

Listen to this article

The new Foxboro Model RTT80 temperature transmitter from Invensys Operations Management represents a new generation of best-in-class transmitters that stand out due to their signal reliability, long-term stability, high precision and advanced diagnostics.

Product overview:
The Foxboro RTT80 temperature transmitter is the best solution for demanding temperature measurement applications that require a rugged, robust and reliable temperature transmitter. The RTT80 is a mid-tier, two-wire temperature transmitter available with HART (and soon to be released FOUNDATION Fieldbus) protocols, dual sensor inputs, universal housing, diagnostics, alarms, RTDs and TCs. For the cost-restricted customer, the RTT80 provides the best functionality at the best value.

Key capabilities:
•    Intelligent hot-sensor backup switches to a secondary sensor in the event of a burn out, preventing unexpected downtime and loss of productivity;
•    Corrosion measurement allows maintenance to better predict the quality of their temperature sensors and their life expectancy;
•    Drift detection enables the control room to evaluate temperature measurements over time and make better decisions concerning sensor stability;
•    Automatic temperature range change switches the primary temperature measurement from sensor 1 to sensor 2– a different sensor type– which is accurate for a certain temperature range;
•    Corrosion detection as per NAMUR NE89 prevents export of incorrect measured values and issues a warning via the HART protocol when conductor resistance values exceed plausible limits;
•    Provides diagnostics according to NAMUR NE107.
