Lifting equipment manufacturer centralises Machine Tool Service operations

Looking to provide increasingly efficient levels of customer service support, Konecranes – a world leading manufacturer of lifting equipment – has centralised its North and South Machine Tool Service operations within its main crane manufacturing site in East Kilbride and at its Head Office location in Castle Donington.

Serving to optimise all important customer response times, whilst also strengthening communication between the Machine Tool Service operation and its crane division, this latest move reaffirms Konecranes’ commitment to administering a world-class service covering a broad spectrum of engineering industry sectors within the Midlands region and across Scotland.

As Allan Guthrie, who heads up Konecranes’ Machine Tool Service Northern District states: “Operating within the service industry it is all about being there when customers need you, and being able to back this up by giving them access to a support system and processes that can be tailored to ensure that all types and manner of capital equipment are maintained to maximum efficiency.

In addition to machine tool maintenance packages, Konecranes offers a comprehensive machine tools move service, assistance with the supply and installation of both new and used ancillary equipment, not to mention machine safety surveys and a comprehensive consultation service. This includes machine guarding in compliance with PUWER, remote production monitoring, maintenance assessment planning (MAP) and machine condition, and safety surveys.
