Materials Handling Specialist Appoints New Managing Director

Cooper Handling Group, one of the UK”s most experienced independent materials handling businesses, has appointed Tony Rooney as Managing Director of its three operating companies.

With a wealth of experience in the materials handling industry, Tony joined the Group four years ago as a Director and, with today”s appointment, he now heads all three companies: Cooper Materials Handling Ltd, Cooper Handling Solutions Ltd and Cooper Specialised Handling Ltd.

On his appointment, Tony said: “I”m delighted to have this opportunity to take Cooper to the next level as we build on the company”s transformation from a single product dealer to a comprehensive materials handling solutions provider.

“The progress we”ve made so far is down to the hard work of everyone across the three businesses and we”re now looking to further expansion as we continue to strengthen our links with some of the world”s top manufacturers whilst also expanding our portfolio of aftersales, maintenance and rental services.

“The materials handling industry has changed and remains incredibly dynamic in all sectors. We are somewhat unique in our capabilities on both bulk and solids handling and our consultancy approach fits well with market needs. We recognise that by building on our existing strategic partnerships, and exploring new ones, we remain at the forefront of market development.”

Tony”s appointment represents the latest development in an exciting period for the Cooper Group that has seen it reinforcing key relationships with Sany, Mantsinen and Maximal whilst expanding its short-term hire offer and building on its reputation for engineering excellence and building long-term business relationships.
