New Global Careers Website for Women And Early Careers In STEM

Spirax-Sarco Engineering has launched a new global careers website to attract more women, graduates and apprentices to join the business.

Achieving an even balance between the genders within the engineering sector is a challenge. However, Spirax-Sarco Engineering believes that events and schemes which highlight the wide array of career paths available within engineering, promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects within schools and universities, or raise awareness of female engineers will, over time, encourage more women to pursue careers in engineering.

As a result of the ongoing activity on campus and a focus on making its programmes as inclusive as possible, Spirax-Sarco Engineering has now achieved a 52% ratio of women to men joining our Global Graduate Development Programme.

It is also addressing the gender imbalance in various other ways including its involvement in International Women In Engineering Day (INWED) and running diversity workshops.

The new website itself gives candidates insight into Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc as a Group and what it is like to work for the business: including the company values, history, case studies, departments, employee stories, women in STEM, rewards and development. Importantly, it also provides the opportunity to search for roles.

The site will allow job seekers to create a clearer pathway to employment with the company and a more positive candidate experience. It has been designed to satisfy the needs of jobseekers by detailing the full scope of opportunities available across the Group, and by clearly defining the culture and benefits of working for Spirax-Sarco Engineering.

The site has initially launched in English, Chinese, German and Spanish to appeal to Global applicants, with additional languages coming soon.

Group Recruitment Manager, Caroline Ellis commented, “I am delighted to have reached this important recruitment milestone; as a business we recognise the importance of having an engaging, easy to navigate “window” to the world and I hope we have achieved this with our new site.”

Whether candidates are interested in learning more about us as a Group or any of our businesses, they will now have one place to find this information. I am excited that now we are live with this phase of the site, we can start to focus our attention on the next phase to make it even more accessible and engaging.”

The global careers website can be accessed through www.spiraxcareers.com

It is also accessible directly via a URL specific to each brand.
