Pressure sensors for safety applications in mobile hydraulics

Listen to this article

The new European directive 2006/42/EC will place new requirements on machine builders in many areas.

The new pressure sensors type P3375 from Tecsis fulfil SIL-2 according to IEC 61508 and Category 3, Performance Level d, according to ISO 13849-1.  Therefore they can be used for mobile hydraulics applications to meet the requirements of this new directive.  Internal redundancy of the pressure measurement and two independent outputs sent to an on-board processor are used to monitor the integrity of the system.  Applications include excavators, quarry machinery, agricultural machinery and off-highway vehicles.

  • Pressure ranges up to 1000 Bar
  • Mechanical protection:  500g shock loading, 20g vibration
  • M12x1 (4 pole) connector IP67 (1.5m cable IP69)
  • 2 x 4-20mA outputs (inverse 20-4mA option)
  • G1/4 pressure port connection (other options available)
