PROSEAL TURNS UP THE SPEED FOR FULL VACUUM TRAYS

Listen to this article

Heat sealing specialist Proseal has extended its range of tray sealers with the launch of a new high speed model offering a full vacuum system.

While all existing Proseal models are capable of delivering gas flushing for MAP applications, the new GT1V has been specifically developed for products such as meat and poultry where residual gas levels need to be less than 1%.  At the same time, the machine retains the high speed capabilities of the GT range, delivering a typical running speed of eight cycles per minute although this can be as high as 11 cycles per minute for certain applications.
Designed to accept randomly spaced trays from any conveyor and capable of being fully and easily integrated with other line equipment, the GT1V offers ease of operation, fast changeovers, easy access, and Proseal’s proven reputation for exceptional reliability.
User-friendly benefits include completely lead-less and hose-less connection of both gas and electrical supply, thanks to the GT1V’s unique auto connect tool docking facility, which means tool changes can be carried out in a matter of minutes.  The new machine also offers maximum flexibility with the option to run multiple depth trays on a single tool set.
The food industry approved construction with wash-down protection incorporates a number of features for maximum hygiene and easy maintenance.  Both top and base tool elements can be split in seconds without the need for any hand tools, while the latched top tool head and base tool top ensure fast and easy access.
Further machine enhancements include tool diagnostics such as a leak test routine and cycle-time analysis, which can be accessed via the advanced Touch Screen.  This provides full graphical operator interface and allows complete machine and tooling set up to be fully ‘recipe’ controlled, with all settings easily stored for fast retrieval.  The GT1V also offers an electronic gas mixer integration option where pre-set gas mixtures can be included as part of the recipe selection.
The screen is housed in an articulated panel, which enables dual-side control and operation of the machine for full flexibility during production, and can also be viewed and controlled remotely from any PC.
An advanced servo-driven infeed conveyor and high accuracy tray positioning system maximise throughput, while the intelligent film feed system provides full control of the sealing system for excellent seal quality.  Easy film threading and dynamic control of the movement of the film throughout the film feed cycle maintain constant tension.
Downtime can be further minimised with the inclusion of options such as ‘film end warning’ and an auto-lock film reel holder.  Other options include film-snap detection, film coding and printing, self-centring tray guides and Proseal’s unique Hot-Rod and EcoSeal systems that offer reduced energy consumption.
Proseal is also developing a second GT1V model to handle skin pack applications, which are growing in popularity for fish and meat.
