Samsung Total Expects More Than $5M in Annual Savings from Deployment of aspenONE Planning & Scheduling Software

Korean Petrochemical Company Achieves Better Inventory Visibility and Improves Decision Making at Olefins and Aromatics Plants

BURLINGTON, Mass. – March 18, 2010 — Aspen Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AZPN), a leading provider of software and services to the process industries, today announced that Samsung Total Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. (Samsung Total) has deployed aspenONE® Planning and Scheduling at its Olefins and Aromatics plants in Daesan, Korea. Based on initial results, Samsung Total expects to achieve $5 million in annual savings by using aspenONE software.

  • aspenONE Planning and Scheduling for Olefins helps fill the gap between planning and production execution, and completes Samsung Total’s vision of a fully integrated, multi-level process optimization system.
  • More optimized operations at Samsung Total now includes:
