Learn the techniques to predict and solve bulk materials handling problems

The course calendar for 2019 is now out – book early to secure your place.
Look out for the new courses below, designed due to an increase in the number of problems we are asked to help with:

14 – 15 February Pneumatic Conveying System Design; in-depth exploration of detailed calculations for design of pneumatic pipelines and specifying associated plant
6 March Dust Control for Processes; dust prevention, capture and extraction methods
12 – 13 March Port and Terminal Operations for Bulk Cargoes; bulk materials handling and safety issues at ports and at sea
1 – 2 May Design of Equipment for Storing and Discharging Bulk Materials; developed with specification writers and equipment designers in mind
22 – 23 May Numerical Modelling of Solids Handling and Processing; explanation of key principles for each method and how to relate them to particulate and bulk characterisation
4 – 6 June Pneumatic Conveying of Bulk Materials; components of pneumatic conveying systems, system selection and design techniques
2 – 3 July Powder Handling and Flow for Additive Manufacturing; a guide through the critical aspects of powder handling and management for powder-based additive manufacturing processing
24 – 26 Sept Storage and Discharge of Powders and Bulk Materials; basics of hopper and silo operation, design and specification, including storage and flow of materials, and selection of feeders and discharge aids.
22 – 24 October Overview of Particulate Handling Technology; introduction to the storing and handling of bulk materials, equipment selection and design methodologies for safe and reliable plant
12 – 13 November Pneumatic Conveying System Design; in-depth exploration of detailed calculations for design of pneumatic pipelines and specifying associated plant
14 November Rotary Valves: Design, Selection and Operational Issues; an exploration of the different valves and features availableboo

Who should attend?

  • Equipment designers and manufacturers of bulk materials handling equipment – such as discharge vessels, storage bins, pneumatic and mechanical conveying systems, equipment elements such as screw feeders, bin linings, dust control systems – to name but a few.
  • Equipment/ site operators, process/engineering/operations managers, senior management, transport/logistics operators
  • Health and Safety officials
  • Anyone who handles powders and particulates could benefit
