  • Industry-leading event offers access to key seminar programme and latest industrial technology innovation – all under one roof.

Siemens is hosting a major industry event designed to showcase how the UK manufacturing sector can tackle questions that are highly topical and challenging in the manufacturing arena today including skill shortages, productivity and competitiveness.

‘Answers for Industry’ is a joint conference and exhibition running over two days (July 4th and 5th) at Manchester’s Central Convention Complex (formerly GMEX).   It offers visitors a unique opportunity to hear the latest thinking from some of the sector’s most influential voices about how UK manufacturing can improve to compete globally.  In addition, a comprehensive exhibition of industrial technology aimed at helping companies to maximise productivity, increase efficiency and sustain growth gives a unique insight into current and emerging trends influencing the manufacturing sector, bringing together the best of expertise from across industry.

The broad conference programme brings together a number of high profile speakers to cover topics of central importance to the future success of UK manufacturing.  The subjects will include: smarter investment to tackle skills shortages and energy concerns, health and safety, the role of renewable technologies, enabling cyber security strategies, sourcing green finance, improving operational efficiencies, driving up manufacturing excellence, enhancing factory productivity and increasing production agility.

Representatives from world class companies such as Rolls Royce, Red Bull Formula One Racing and Siemens will share their views on meeting the manufacturing challenges of tomorrow, and leading industrialists, policy makers and engineers will give their take on how efficiencies can be driven in UK manufacturing plants and factories.

Key exhibits – alongside technology from across the extensive Siemens Industry portfolio – will include high efficiency drives that can deliver 70% energy savings and water filtration solutions capable of significantly reducing water usage and effluent production.  In addition, the very latest functional safety, process automation and condition monitoring technologies will be among the many on hand to view.

Juergen Maier, Siemens Industry UK and Ireland managing director comments: “A key challenge we face in the UK is that we underperform on investment, in technology and manufacturing plants in comparison with other industrial nations – for example the investment level is 35% lower in the UK than in Germany. This conference explores the opportunities to address this challenge whilst offering manufacturing the requisite profile and support that it deserves.”

Answers for Industry takes place on 4th and 5th July at Central Hall 2, Manchester Central Convention Complex.  Entry is free.
