High-Precision Pressure Transmitters Cover Any Measurement Requirement

  • Siemens UK & Ireland expands its Sitrans portfolio to offer the right device class for every conceivable measurement need
  • New products added to basic, advanced and premium segments
  • Improvements also made to the existing Sitrans P DS III

Siemens UK & Ireland has enhanced its range of high-precision pressure transmitters, with the addition of new products and upgrades to existing solutions, to encompass varied industrial measurement needs.
By adding the newly developed Sitrans P310 and P410 to the basic and advanced segments and developing Sitrans P500 for the premium segment, Siemens is now able to offer the right device class to address every conceivable measurement requirement. Technical innovations have also been made to the Sitrans P DS III to deliver even more accurate measurement results across the whole pressure transmitter range.
The Sitrans family is a high-precision product portfolio with a comprehensive range of device classes, from the entry-level P310, to the premium Sitrans P500. The P310 model has a measurement accuracy of 0.075 percent, making it ideal for applications in fields such as water supply and disposal.
Moving through the range, the new Sitrans P410 has been developed with extreme accuracy of just 0.04 percent, while Sitrans P500 has a standard measurement range from 50 mbar to 32 bar. As a premium device, the P500 is designed to meet the most stringent demands in terms of performance, precision, long-term stability and diagnostic scope.
The improvements to the Sitrans P DS III involve installing premium sensor technology, which has increased basic accuracy and temperature range, as well as optimising measurement deviation to 0.065 percent with a turndown of 1:1 to 5:1. This allows plant efficiency to be further increased when performing processes such as level measurement, as the new technology facilitates better use of shut-off limits for tank filling levels.
All transmitters are simple to operate via three push buttons and offer a long-term stability of 0.125 percent over a period of five years, allowing calibration cycles to be extended and maintenance work reduced which delivers real cost savings. They are also certified to Security Integrated Level (SIL) 2/3 and boast Ex Zone certifications for use in hazardous areas.
Derek Moore, UK product level manager at Siemens UK & Ireland, comments: “We are continually investing in our range of transmitters to meet the ever-changing needs of the water industry. These latest innovations have been designed to deliver exceptional performance in every conceivable measurement application.”
