Technor ISIS, which designs and manufactures ATEX approved explosion-proof computers for the oil and gas sectors, has new owners. Following an MBO, the UK, Malton-based company has been purchased from international technology group Technor AS by managing director, Howard Gould and financial director, John Hollis. The company will now trade as iSiS-Ex Limited.
Both men were instrumental in launching ISIS in the 1980’s before the Norwegian-based Technor Group acquired the company in 1999. The firm supplies some of the biggest players in the world’s oil industry, including Schlumberger – which operates globally in more than 80 countries – Baker Hughes, and well flow management experts, Expro.
As a result of the MBO, head office will now move to Barkston House, Leeds, but the R&D and production facility will remain in Malton where the company invested £300,000 in a new 6,500 sq ft factory in 2008.
Comments Howard Gould: “ISIS is recognised and respected worldwide as a leader in its field. Our products, which are sold worldwide, are used to monitor and record data during the sensitive and hazardous process of oil and gas exploration.”
“Following the MBO we now have a clear strategy to develop and grow the business that takes full advantage of our industry sector knowledge and the loyalty and expertise of our staff. It’s an ambitious strategy designed to deliver stretching growth targets that will include the introduction of some new and exciting products.”
