UK liquid storage, biogas and mechanical systems expert STORTEC Engineering Limited has won a substantial contract to design and construct digesters and a hydrolysis tank for an Australian new food-waste-to-energy facility.

Following the focus on sustainability and long-term operation, STORTEC's Ultrastore stainless steel tanks have been selected for this work. The tanks boast the most advanced material technology and are built with over 85% recycled material, offering a tough and sustainable solution.

Both 4000m³ digesters will be equipped with Landia's externally-mounted GasMix mixer system, which has already proven its exceptional effectiveness at an anaerobic digestion (AD) plant near Perth in Western Australia.

For its hydrolysis vessel, STORTEC has placed an order for a Landia JetMix system, which includes specially designed jetting nozzles. The system is engineered to be able to handle food waste with 16% of dissolved solids (DS) and pH 5-8.'STORTEC Managing Director Matt Dickinson further stated:

For digesters and a hydrolysis tank in Australia being built by STORTEC at a new food waste to energy facility, mixing systems from Landia are being installed.

Matt Dickinson, Managing Director at STORTEC, commented:

This important new order demonstrates the increasing demand worldwide for our innovative and sustainable solutions. STORTEC’s model enables us to operate as a design and manufacturing partner, turnkey 360-degree solution provider and principal contractor. Throughout each approach, we ensure that we partner closely with our supply chain to deliver at the highest level.”

He added:

Our customers demand the best, low-maintenance equipment to comprehensively mix their tanks, so we have every confidence in supplying these new units with pumps and mixers from Landia.”

In addition to the AD and biogas sector, STORTEC and Landia also provide durable engineering solutions for the water, wastewater and agricultural industries, as well as for various industrial applications.
