The pressure’s on for better quality – the new pressure sensor family from Balluff

Listen to this article

Balluff’s will exhibit for the first time in the UK their new line of pressure sensors which include a stainless steel version for harsh environments.

The new BSP Pressure Sensors combine the advantages of a display, measuring transducer and pressure switch into a single device. Features include 130 versions, IP67 housing rotating 320°, bright display with easy programming (no tool required) and extended temperature ranges of -40° to 125°C.

The IP67 protection is ideal for use in gaseous and liquid media and its high quality, ceramic thick film measuring technology ensures performance and reliability. A large, bright and easily visible four-digit LED display shows the current system pressure in bar, mbar, PSI or MPa, and features fast and simple sensor configuration using two buttons and an intuitive menu guidance. Unauthorised access is prevented by password protection.

Versions available:

  • 11 pressure range versions from -1…2 bar up to 0…600 bar (0…8,702 PSI)
  • Standard plastic housing or stainless steel versions available
  • Two switching points or one switching output + analogue output (0…10V or 4…20mA)

Thanks to their highly compact design these pressure sensors can be easily located without taking up valuable space. The display’s buttons and electrical connection can be rotated independently of each other by 320° with respect to the flange, which makes accessing the display easy no matter the orientation of the connection. Adapting to different process terminations is easily accomplished using optional adapters in various sizes and styles.

The stainless steel housing models with their extended temperature range (-40º C to 125 ºC) are especially designed for demanding applications in harsh environments, making them ideal for use with wind power turbines, offshore installations, and HVAC technology.
