VAN LEEUWEN WHEELER DELIVERS FAST RESPONSE TO TOUGH CONDITIONS

Specialist tube and pipe supplier Van Leeuwen Wheeler has responded to toughening market conditions by offering an overnight delivery service which enables customers to purchase material for immediate requirements.

The company trialled overnight deliveries last year from its Brierley Hill warehouse offering specialist packages of materials for hydraulics engineers.  The service is now available from both the Brierley Hill and Middlesbrough sites and has been extended to the full range of product lines.

Sales manager David Abernethy  says:  “We have the flexibility to adapt to market conditions and we want to support our customers with a service offering that recognises the difficult trading climate that they are operating in.  Our overnight delivery service was very well received by customers in repair and maintenance businesses who need to offer a fast response to their customers but find it increasingly difficult to carry stocks. This situation is now applying to customers across the board and by offering an overnight supply service from our entire product range we can ensure that the material is there when it is needed.  Effectively we can offer the equivalent of a local trade counter service to customers anywhere in the country.”

With courier services currently in place, Van Leeuwen Wheeler can supply materials to a maximum length of 6 metres, with no weight limit provided the items can be banded for handling with a forklift truck.  Orders received by 2.00pm will be sent out the same night, with some flexibility for orders received after that time.  For customers able to collect material from Brierley Hill or Middlesbrough, a same-day service is available and cash or credit card payment options are available for both overnight deliveries and collections.
