Whistle miniature servo drives expand with the addition of 200V models

Listen to this article

The Whistle and Gold Whistle lines of miniature servo drives have been expanded with the addition of 200V models. These are available from UK distributor Inmoco of Daventry ― recognised experts in the world of precision motion.

The Whistle is a series of intelligent miniature digital servo drives for DC brush and brushless motors, linear motors and voice coils. The size of a matchbox and weighing only 1.8oz (50g), the Whistle supports up to 20 amps of continuous current. Designed and manufactured by Elmo Motion Control to have exceptionally high power density, it can deliver a peak of 3200W of power and 1600W of continuous power.

Based on Elmo”s SimplIQ Motion Control technology, the Whistle is capable of operating in position, velocity and current modes and has a wide range of feedback and I/O options. With Elmo”s Application Studio software (EAS), users can easily perform drive setup, configuration, tuning, analysis and programming. The drive operates on DC power and is a PCB mounted device.

The Gold Whistle is an advanced, high power density servo drive that provides the highest performance, advanced networking and built-in safety, as well as a fully featured motion controller and local intelligence. The Gold Whistle is powered by a single 12V – 95V isolated DC power source, which also provides an auxiliary power supply for logic functions.

The Gold Solo Whistle is an integrated solution consisting of a Gold Whistle which is fitted a with connection interface suitable for the intended application. The Gold DC Whistle is a panel mounted, network-based drive.

All members of the Gold Whistle line are based on a common motion control technology and offer efficient, high bandwidth performance. Their dynamic performance is enhanced by the use of advanced filtering, gain scheduling and vector control sinusoidal commutation. They can communicate using EtherCAT, CANopen, USB or Ethernet protocols and can be used with a variety of feedback sensors.

Both Whistle and Gold Whistle servo drives are popular choices and are used in an ever-increasing range of applications. The new 200V option widens their appeal even further increases the choices to achieve optimal results from the machine/from any application.
