White Paper From Semaphore Describes Remote Site Technology for Infrastructure Management

Listen to this article

Semaphore, a CSE Global company, has released a white paper with updated information on RTU and SCADA system architecture for infrastructure management and mobile asset management applications.

Often overlooked in a “top-down,” infrastructure management system design, a remote terminal unit (RTU) can play a critical role in managing remote sites. This technical paper focuses on remote site equipment and the numerous advantages an RTU offers to the solution.

An RTU solves the problem introduced by contention among the priorities of remote site automation, monitoring and telemetry. In many cases, the engineering team will select a device that is suitable for one of these roles and end up with a considerable integration project to accommodate either or both of the others. See how the RTU solution can cost-effectively provide all the desired functionality in a single, integrated package.

The white paper is available on the Semaphore website, www.cse-semaphore.com.
