Win-Win in the 75th Anniversary of the Landia Chopper Pump

Landia has secured a string of new orders from the Biogas and Waste Management industries for its globally renowned chopper pumps and mixers in rapid succession.

Created by Landia in 1950, recent Chopper Pump sales have been made by a new food waste AD plant in North Scotland, a textile processor and a large landfill site.

For the AD/Biogas plant, the Landia Chopper Pumps will be supplied in stainless steel to provide many years of service in the high-acidity application.

The textile processor also requires pumps that provide the lowest possible total cost of ownership. With the net-zero drive, increasing numbers of companies in this industry have been looking at using their waste streams as a feedstock for biogas.

Landia Technical Sales Engineer Howard Burton commented:

“We have a continuing strong demand for our state-of-the-art Landia Digester Mixing System (which features our proven Chopper Pumps and unique GasMix nozzle) and also for our stand-alone Chopper Pumps across a very broad spectrum of biogas tank/digester/storage/blending applications.”.

He went on: “In the long-established markets for leachate and liquid waste storage, where we have mixers and pumps installed throughout the UK, the new orders include an 18.5kW POP-I Mixer and a DGER-I Chopper Pump.

“Because our service team is available it is not at all uncommon to see Landia products remain in operation for over 20 years, even in very challenging environments.”
